The Hudson Brief is a blog run by Jiyan, a 16-year-old from Jersey City who is interested in local government and how city decisions affect the people who live here.
What You’ll Find Here
- Jersey City, explained: plain-language breakdowns of city budgets, taxes, and council decisions.
- Inside City Hall: a day-in-the-life series from my internship in a city council office.
- My take: my own perspective on the issues facing our city.
Why I Started It
Many of the decisions that shape daily life in Jersey City happen at the local level, but they’re often hard to follow. The Hudson Brief is my way of making them easier to understand, one post at a time.
The views shared here are my own and do not represent the Jersey City Council or any elected official.
